Global Maritime is pleased to announce the release of OPSIM 5.0, our strategic planning tool designed to provide event-based simulations for project optimization and cost reduction.
OPSIM 5.0 offers a significant enhancement in speed and the completion of the “complex types” feature, now referred to as “assets”. Additionally, there are two new tutorials related to this update. One tutorial introduces assets and asset views in the context of calculating storage requirements. The other tutorial demonstrates the failure and maintenance features concerning wind farm maintenance, along with calculating instantaneous power generation.
As the offshore industry faces a significant transformation, driven by advancements in in technology and the need for more efficient and sustainable operations, OPSIM 5.0 represents a significant advancement in offshore operations and maintenance software. The latest release equips users with powerful tools to optimize their operations, improve efficiency, and ensure the reliability of their maritime assets
Key Features of OPSIM 5.0:
- Substantial Speed Increase: OPSIM 5.0 delivers a significant increase in simulation speed, enabling users to perform complex simulations more efficiently and reduce the time required for analysis and decision-making.
- Introduction of ‘Assets’: The new feature allows users to represent real-world objects with unique properties and system states, enhancing the ability to model and manage various maritime components, from ships to offshore structures.
- Asset Views: Perform complex operations on asset collections, such as summing values from a subset of assets that meet specific criteria. This functionality is invaluable for managing storage requirements and optimizing resource allocation.
- Asset State Trees: Define systems and distributions of failure rates, essential for modelling maintenance schedules and predicting system availability. This feature supports tasks such as wind farm maintenance and instantaneous power generation calculations.
Available as an annual license or bundled with our bespoke consultancy services, OPSIM 5.0 offers unparalleled guidance and assurance from over 300 engineers, architects, mariners, and experts.
OPSIM 5.0 change log:
- New ‘Asset’ block to represent real-world objects that require their own unique set of properties and/or system states (previously called ‘complex types’ in an incomplete and beta form).
- Added asset views which allow for complex operations on collections of assets (sum of values coming from the subset of assets meeting certain criteria, etc.).
- Added asset state trees which allow for definition of systems and distributions of failure rate. Systems can be maintained and their availabilty can also be checked as part of e.g. task limits.
- OPSIM will now indicate if a state name entered into a limit or expression is not valid (and can click state name to get a list).
- Significant speed increase due to recompliation against Microsoft .NET 9.
- Add tooltips to custom properties and scenario properties to show where they’re used.
- Warnings are now provided if non-forecastable properties are included in a forecast (can be safely ignored if the property value is not going to change).
- Bugfix for recording of delay cause if costs have been configured for a task list but then disabled.
- Bugfix for auto-forecast not being applied if the first task in the group has no task type.
- Bugfix for using ABS in conjuction with a random number generator outputting both positive and negative values.
