Global Maritime’s Geosciences department, GM Geo, has rapidly expanded to meet offshore wind project demand across Europe, Japan and South America. Driven by Tier‑1 engagements with developers and transmission operators, the team has grown to 12 specialists and relocated to The Core at Newcastle’s Helix, strengthening its integrated geoscience capability across the offshore energy lifecycle.
Global Maritime Geosciences Scaling Up
Growth has been driven by key projects in offshore wind energy, contracting strategically at a Tier 1 level to offshore wind developers and transmission operators. The GM Geo team now encapsulates expertise across key technical discipline areas of engineering geology, geophysics, geotechnical engineering, subsea cables and GIS. Starting just 9 months ago, the team now comprises 12 professionals working exclusively in the offshore energy sector.
