Scope of work
Global Maritime provided Marine Warranty Survey services for the transport and installation of three 10 MW floating wind turbines for the floating offshore wind project “Les Éoliennes Flottantes du Golfe du Lion” (EFGL), located in the Mediterranean Sea, off the south coast of France.
The scope of work included the independent review, approval, and oversight of all major marine operations to ensure safe and compliant execution. This covered the launch of the turbines’ foundations, integration of the Wind Turbine Generator’s components, and transport and installation of three floating wind turbines, as contracted by OW, as well as the transport and installation of the offshore export cable for Réseau de Transport d’Électricité (RTE).
Outcome – Results and Deliverables
- No operations were delayed due to MWS approval process.
- GM facilitated the timely resolution of findings from the vessel suitability survey, ensuring the vessel was fit for its intended scope of work.
- Seabed impact risk was mitigated by GM as MWS, through the development and review of detailed engineering assessments and contingency scenarios.
- MWS-driven mitigations contributed to the successful preservation of cable integrity, with no damage or defects identified despite extended storage arrangements.
